Senior Product EngineerFullstack Autonomy

Hello,
I’m Adham.

Shipping software at the intersection of design craft and fullstack velocity.

Dubai, UAE · UTC+4 · Open to remote (US EST, UK/EU CET, APAC)

About

8 years across the stack taught me to care about both ends of it: the typography and micro-interactions users actually notice, and the unit economics that decide what ships. I don’t hand work off at the API boundary. I scope features, build them end to end, and check the numbers afterwards.

Philosophy

Why I operate beyond a traditional developer

Three things I care about when I ship: taste, how far I take ownership, and how I use AI.

Taste & Design Rigor

The anti-AI-slop

Code is easily generated; taste is not. I build with an obsessive eye for typography, fluid micro-interactions, spacing rhythm, and accessibility standards (WCAG). I treat Figma as a blueprint, not a wall.

Fullstack Velocity & Autonomy

Idea to release

I don’t wait for backend tickets to be unblocked. From modeling database relations and scaffolding Node/Rails APIs to shipping React UI components and provisioning servers, I own features from idea to release.

AI, Used Responsibly

Rigor over vibes

AI makes the typing faster, not the judgment. Every generated line is untrusted input: reviewed, tested, and understood before it ships. I still own the architecture and the security.

AI Workflow

How I Use AI

Where AI fits in my work, and how much I trust it at each step.

Agentic coding in OpenCode

Most of my day runs through OpenCode: community skills and MCPs, plus custom ones tuned to my style and project layout. For end-to-end features I follow the same loop:

  1. Generate a feature plan.
  2. Review it and rework anything that’s off.
  3. Once the plan holds up, break it into tasks.
  4. The agent implements one task at a time, pausing for my approval after each.
Tests
80–90% coverage baseline
Docs
Concise, straightforward, no AI slop
Bugs
Traced with agents, reviewed by me

AI chat for system design

My first stop for infrastructure and architecture questions. I compare approaches and poke holes in trade-offs before committing.

Hand-written where it matters

I still write the sensitive parts by hand. Autocomplete makes the typing faster; the reasoning stays mine.

Experience

Eight years of remote-first product engineering

A career built across the UK, US, and Europe: media platforms, experimentation SaaS, live national events.

  1. Jul 2023 — Present

    Software Engineer — Team Lead

    Current

Effective Experiments · United Kingdom · Remote

B2B experimentation & conversion optimization platform

    • Architected and launched an in-app AI assistant with Mastra and Vercel AI SDK, streaming Generative UI data cards and charts directly into the chat.
    • Evaluated cloud unit economics and moved production infrastructure from AWS to Hetzner, cutting hosting spend 85%.
    • Engineered bi-directional integrations with Optimizely, Kameleoon, Jira, Slack, and Zapier, including idempotent webhooks and OAuth token lifecycles.
    • Led distributed fullstack initiatives, raised code-review standards, and optimized database queries to cut dashboard latency.
  2. 2025

    Lead Product Engineer

Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) Awards · Project · Contract, Remote

Official national gaming & esports awards ceremony

    • Shipped the public voting platform from scratch: a React frontend on a Node.js BFF built to absorb live-broadcast traffic surges.
    • Built the admin console in React and embedded it into a legacy Angular host, using a native CustomEvent bridge to avoid router collisions without a platform rewrite.
    • Built a real-time ops dashboard for filtering, approving, and moderating entries while watching live vote tallies.
  3. Jan 2021 — Jul 2023

Software Engineer — Frontend Lead & Fullstack

Effective Experiments · United Kingdom · Remote

Frontend leadership through the platform's React era

    • Spearheaded the multi-phase migration of legacy Rails monolith views to a modular React + TypeScript SPA, reducing UI technical debt and accelerating releases.
    • Learned Rails to unblock myself, and ended up owning database schemas, controller endpoints, and the UI on top of them.
    • Standardized component libraries and design tokens, translating Figma into production UI with strict typographic and spacing hierarchy.
  4. Feb 2020 — Jan 2021

    Software Engineer — Frontend

Aura Health · San Francisco · Remote

Mental wellness & mindfulness consumer platform

    • Developed a React and Next.js creator portal for wellness coaches to upload, manage, and distribute episodic audio sessions.
    • Implemented a Node.js BFF layer to consolidate external service calls, reduce client payloads, and improve mobile web load performance.
    • Partnered with product and design leads to eliminate friction across coach onboarding flows.
  5. Jan 2019 — Feb 2020

    Software Engineer — Frontend

    Al.ta Cucina · Milan · Remote

Culinary media & social discovery platform

    • Led frontend development for high-traffic media applications, introducing responsive layouts that improved engagement and session duration.
    • Collaborated with design teams on fluid UI animations and Core Web Vitals optimization across desktop and mobile.
